My first feature film - Born Yesterday

What began as my journey transformed into something far greater than I could have imagined. The heart of this film lies not just in my childhood memories, but extraordinarily in an entire village that embraced and shaped it.

Something magical happened when I stepped into this community near Madurai. The villagers didn't just allow me to film; they welcomed me into their lives. As I shared my vision, they shared their world. What unfolded was a beautiful synergy of storytelling.

The entire village rallied around the film with an enthusiasm that still leaves me in awe. It wasn't just my project anymore - it became our project. Every resident contributed uniquely. Some offered their homes as locations, infusing the film with authenticity. Others shared local insights, enriching the narrative with their wisdom and traditions. Even those who couldn't directly participate showered us with their support and encouragement.

Looking back, I realize this film chose me as much as I chose it. But more than that, it decided this village. My coming-of-age story became intertwined with the story of this community. Their spirit, their traditions, their warmth - all of it seeped into every frame of the film, creating something far more profound than I had initially envisioned.

This journey taught me that true filmmaking isn't just about capturing images on camera. It's about building connections, fostering trust, and allowing a story to evolve organically.
